Our Practice

Therapy that meets you exactly where you are and doesn't ask you to shrink to fit.

Because healing was never meant to be one-size-fits-all. And your story deserves a therapist who actually gets that.

Who We Are

Steady Living Therapy is a BIPOC-centered private practice where the couch (virtual or otherwise) doesn't come with the pressure to explain your culture, translate your family, or justify why certain things hit differently for you. We already know. And if we don't know your specific experience yet — we will listen until we do.

This isn't the kind of therapy where you spend half the session doing cultural backstory. Here, your identity — all of it — is woven into the work, not worked around it. Race, ethnicity, faith, gender, sexuality, class, and lived experience aren't footnotes in your treatment. They're the whole chapter.

Culturally Rooted

We understand intergenerational trauma, code-switching fatigue, and why "have you tried journaling?" isn't always the answer.

Radically Inclusive

LGBTQ+ affirming, faith-sensitive, and fluent in navigating the tension between community expectations and your own healing.

Whole-person lens

We treat the nervous system, not just the symptom. Your anxiety makes sense. Your grief makes sense. You make sense.

No Performance Required

You can show up tired, messy, and unsure. The work doesn't require you to have it together first.

Our Philosophy

We believe therapy should feel like a breath out— not another place where you have to earn your seat at the table. Healing isn't linear. It isn't always pretty. And it definitely doesn't look like the stock photo of someone laughing alone on a couch.

The name Steady Living isn't about being calm all the time. It's about having something solid to come back to. A practice. A rhythm. Yourself, on your own terms.

We draw from evidence-based modalities— CBT, somatic therapy, trauma-informed frameworks, and attachment theory — always filtered through a lens that centers your reality, not a textbook that wasn't written with you in mind.

A Note for Those Who’ve Been Reluctant

If you grew up in a home where mental health wasn’t discussed openly, where you were advised to pray harder, persevere, or keep your struggles to yourself, we understand. It’s not a flaw in your character; it’s a survival strategy that has carried you this far. But maybe you’re ready for something more substantial.

Asking for help is not weakness. In many ways, it's the bravest and most radical act of self-love available to you.
